Five For Friday and Tommee Tippee Giveaway Winner
This week we've been escaping the unusual heat at the beach in Maine. With unseasonably warm temps and sunshine we've spent every day outside strolling the beach and building sandcastles. Or more realistically, trying to walk down the beach and only getting a few feet because Jack wants to stop and sink his hands into the soft, sloppy sand and instead of building castles I'm refereeing disputes between Sophia and Jack because Jack is hell bent on destroying Sophia's creations. So maybe it's not all strolling and sandcastles. But in the evenings the kids have been scootering around the dead-end ally (a freeing place to play compared to our steeply sloping driveway at home) while Mark and I sit on the stoop and watch the sunset Liam look at the world around him. It's been nice. Here's five for this Friday: 1. Raising Brave Daughters. I read this great article on raising brave daughters. I think of this often as I watch my five year old, Sophia grow. The article made me think about the example I'm setting for her. I want her to be brave, to dare to dream big and not be afraid to stand up for herself. If you're a mom to a little (or big) it's a must read.
2. Spandits. I just bought these colorful capris from Spandits. They are made in Maine and they have so many colorful options. They are super comfy and so fun. This pattern is called Aurora Borealis.
3. Lucy's Granola+Stonyfield. They are a perfect match. Lucy's Granola is another made-in-Maine specialty and her Granola is soooo good. Lots of different flavors to choose from and delivered right to your door (or available at some Whole Foods).
4. Walking. I'm taking my return to running VERY conservatively. I want to make sure my body is fully recovered before I run again, so I've been walking A LOT. And since I'm unable to wake up early for a solo walk I've been taking all three kids along.
5. Ergo Baby. It's nothing new but I'm so glad I swapped out my Baby Bjorn for the Ergo Baby. I've used it every day this past week to take Liam with us on walks or down to the beach. He's so comfortable in the infant insert and I know that as he grows I can switch him to the back. We borrowed an Ergo Baby for our trip to Disney last year and I wore Jack (then two) on both the back and front. It's especially cute when my husband wears it;)
