Where did Tuesday Go?
Today I did not run. I was supposed to do a speed work out, but I didn't. Running isn't the only thing that I didn't do today. There's actually a whole host of things I neglected to do. I can't even really explain why, but here's what my day looked like:
6:23 am Wake up to Sophia babbling in her crib, feed her a 'snack' and put her back down hoping to sleep 'till 8am
9:36 am Wake up and check my watch; realize that it is past 8am; wake Sophia up and feed her
10 am Eat breakfast and down two cups coffee
10:18 am give Sophia a bath
10:34 am Sophia down for AM nap (trying to get her back on our normal "8am Schedule")
10:48 Sit down at kitchen table and burry face in hands, husband observes and says "Are you OK? Why don't you take a nap?"
10"51 Go into the living room to take a nap on the couch, husband observes and says "Why don't you go in the bedroom, you'll sleep better."
10:52 Go into bedroom and fall asleep on the bed.
1:37pm Wake up from nap and realize I've slept most of the day away, Sophia has missed her noon feeding and I have to make dinner so I can leave the house in 3 hours to go to work.
1:38pm Mild Panic attack at the realization that I've "wasted" nearly three hours sleeping.
I can't explain why I needed all that sleep--Sophia had a great night. I guess my body just needed rest, but it certainly left me with the feeling that Tuesday hadn't really happened. I'm usually uberproductive. I've got my "To Do" list all written out first thing in the morning. I go through my day checking off items on my list, making more lists and checking those; I can have two or three lists going at one time. The only way I ever really feel accomplished is if I do all the things on my list--sometimes I even add things that I have already done, just so I can check them off.
Because I didn't do much and because I didn't run today, I feel like a total slacker. Which is probably why I'm staying up right now to blog (it was on my list). I can at least feel good about THAT and the fact that Sophia got a bath, and I did work tonight, and when I realized I didn't have time to run I dropped to the floor and did 50 sit ups and 10 push ups. So there that too. In fact, I should write that on my list so I can have two more things to check off. I supposed I could add a third thing too: Nap. And cross that one off. Then my Tuesday would be vindicated.
