It's Not Raining, So it Wouldn't Count
We played in the nice weather all weekend. Saturday we took Sophia up Blue Job Mountain for her first hike of the season. She slept through most of it, but the sun and fresh air had her exhausted by the end of the day and she slept in on Sunday morning 'till 9:32am! My eyes bugged out of my head when I saw the time, due in part to utter amazement and to the fact that we were going to be late to church (on Easter, off all Sundays!). After a night like that I'm contemplating hiking EVERY day--well, maybe not, but its a nice idea.
Today is shaping up to be another GORGEOUS day. Mark won't be home today, which usually affords me the luxury (Running 12 miles a luxury? hmmm. What is WRONG with me?) of going out on my long runs, so I won't be doing any long distances. And besides, it's not raining, so it wouldn't count. Instead I'll go out with Sophia in the BOB, probably to the cemetery again and run the mile loop around there five or six times. Now that I've passed the 10 mile mark on my long runs, six miles no longer counts as "long." Too bad.
The Half Marathon is slowly approaching--a month away. I have two more 5K's (one of which is entirely FLAT--thank the Lord!) and one (or two, depending on how ambitious I am) more long run between now and May 8th. And hopefully I'll be able to drop the remaining baby-weight in the next four weeks, which would certainly lighten the load I'll be shlepping through 13.1 miles.
