A Year of Sunrise Running on the Beach in Maine: photo album
What a whirlwind week: Mark and I returned from our trip to Arizona and we had four days to complete the pack and move process out of the beach house. Our home isn't quite ready yet, so we're staying with family while we put the finishing touches on the house. We've been really lucky to be able to live in my mother-in-laws beach house during this whole process. It has made being displaced for a year (we moved out of our townhouse on July 28, 2016) a little bit easier.
I've loved our "year at the beach," even though I consider myself more of a lakes and mountain lover, the beach is pretty special too, especially in the winter. Experiencing this place in the off season is quite frankly what I prefer: the weather is awe-inspiring and the empty streets and neighborhoods make you feel like you're the only one sitting in the theater for nature's spectacular show.
Over the course of the year I took some pretty great sunrise/morning running photos and thought I'd share them all in one place as a sort of chronicle of my year running at the beach. So here they are in chronological order starting in August 2016 and finishing up in June 2017.

What I love about getting up and running with the sun is that you get to witness the start of a new day. Everything is fresh, the stress of the previous day forgotten and the promise of the day spreading out before you.
Do you run at sunrise? If not, when do you run and what do you love about it?
