The end of another week and today I'm giving you a the run-down on a few things I "discovered" this week.
Tart Cherry Juice
Lately I've been sipping on tart cherry juice. My hubby ordered Pure Organic Certified Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate and decided he didn't like it and I found that I do, in fact, like it and it's also beneficial for recovery. You can read about that HERE. It seems like you have to load the body up first if you want to benefit from the drink's antioxidant benefits. I've been adding it to post-run smoothies and sipping on it after dinner since it satisfies my sweet craving. They say it can be aid better sleep, but until the tart cherry juice walks itself out of the fridge and takes care of the crying baby in the middle of the night I don't think I'll be reaping those benefits.
Sugoi Women's Ignite Shirt
I saw this shirt while my hubby and I were shopping at Runner's Alley, our local running specialty store. The colors caught my eye and I really liked it. I had a gift card and had snagged a running safety vest and buying the shirt would put me over the gift card. I was thinking I'd just grab socks and a few GU's and leave the shirt behind. But my hubby said "Well, what do you really want?" And I wanted the shirt. So I put down the socks and GU and grabbed the shirt and I'm so glad I did. It's super comfy and cute, almost to cute to wear running. It's my new favorite top.
Twitter feed of @neelyspenceg and #tuesdaytips
While browsing twitter I stumbled upon Neely Spence Gracey's twitter feed and her #tuesdaytips. Each Tuesday she shares a quick tip and a lot of times its a great strength move that is sure to help you become a better running. Give her a follow to gain a little insight into how an elite runs strong. She'll be debuting in the marathon at this year's Boston Marathon.
Another Mother Runner Podcast
I listened to Another Mother Runner this week and went back to a podcast #192 on how to schedule your races. It was a fun chat with coach Christine Hinton who shared a lot of great advice on scheduling your races and how to plan tune up races. There's a lot of discussion about training in general that is helpful. It is worth a listen.
Running Revolution YouTube Channel
I stumbled upon the YouTube channel of James Dunne, a physical therapist from the UK. I found his videos to be straightforward, very informative and succinct. He covers all kinds of topics and his strength routines can help you address the root causes of common running injuries. Check out his channel, he's got a lot of great videos to offer.
