CHaD AT hike

CHaD AT hike

CHaD Appalachian Trail Hiker: While the internet was still buzzing this past week with Scott Jurek's record setting Appalachian Trail through hike (and all the citations that went along with it,) twenty-year old Jesse Ross finished his through hike of the Applalachian Trail raising $6,900 for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in the process. As an infant Jesse was treated at CHaD for a severe pulmonary disorder and used his hike of the AT as a way to give back. You can read more about his story HERE. Congratulations Jesse!

Champion Gear from Sports Authority

Champion Gear from Sports Authority

Champion Gear from Sports Authority: Last week I received a little surprise package from Sports Authority, featuring a racer back tank and Vapor capri from their new line from Champion called Champion GEAR. I took the gear out for a test run with the boys in the stroller and loved the fit, drape and feel of the fabric. Especially the seamless Vapor capris: they were ahhhmazing. The fabric was a thick, no-show material, they were so comfortable, very flattering and they didn't slip down at all during our four mile run. What's even better about the apparel is it's reasonable price: $32 for the capris and $26 for the tank; considering that other running apparel brands can cost twice that for the same item.

603 Love: As a teen I swore I had to get out of New Hampshire. Born and raised in a small town in, what seemed like a forgotten corner of the country, I couldn't wait to leave the state I was born and raised in. But now I'm here in New Hampshire (after living elsewhere for a while), bearing and raising my own children, and there's no place I would rather be. It's so easy to complain about this place in the winter with the bitter cold and snow, but in the summer it is so hard to beat where we are. In one day last week I ran along the lake with a friend in the morning and then picnic-ed by the ocean with my family in the evening. We're perfectly positioned to enjoy some spectacularly breathtaking natural beauty. And I'm loving it.

Triple Running Stroller

Triple Running Stroller

Triple Stroller Runs: I bought a triple. And it's a BEAST! We took it out this week for our first run and I realized just how much work this thing is. We went to the flattest (which still has hills), least-busy road by our house and we ran back and forth along that .63 mile stretch until we got to three miles. The kids loved it and I did to, it was fun to have all three of them there with me cruising huffing and puffing down the road under a canopy of oak trees. I'm not the biggest fan of the stroller's construction though (made by BEBELOVE USA), it certainly doesn't feel as solidly built as our BOB Single and Duallie. But it's the only triple that is currently manufactured, which made it our only choice since searching Craigslist turned up nothing. I'm sure we'll have many more triple runs this summer and fall, especially on those mornings I just can't get myself out of bed early enough for a solo run.

Summer Salads

Summer Salads

Summer is for Salads: Summer salads, it seems like no matter what we're having for dinner I'm always making up a huge salad to go with it. When making a salad I kind of follow a simple formula: greens+fruit+nuts/seeds+fresh herbs. My favorite salad so far Kale+Peach+Sesame Seeds and Chia+Mint. I can't seem to grow anything all that well in our garden, but I can grow herbs! So we have an abundance of chive, basil and mint and using those in a salad gives it a unique "freshness."
