Snowday: Surviving Blizzard Juno

We did more than survive, yesterday. In fact we had a lot of fun! Snow totals are showing that we got around 24-26 inches and I don't doubt it (although I haven't gone out there with a ruler myself). We hunkered down yesterday and thankfully didn't lose power, so we were cozy and warm while the storm raged outside. Sometime last year, winter stopped bothering me. I think it was because instead of complaining about how I couldn't run or had to run on the treadmill, I made the decision to just get out there now matter how unpleasant it seemed. And you know what I found, it wasn't as unpleasant as I imagined...actually I quite enjoyed it. And on the days when the roads were unsafe to run on due to ice or plows or no shoulder or all of the above, I'd put on my snowshoes and run the powerline-path just through the woods next to our house. And that wasn't so bad either, in fact it was quite thrilling. So I've made my peace with winter (spring in New England? Not so much. I still have a beef with you Mud-Season), which is why yesterday was so fun. How can you not have fun when the world around you comes to a standstill and times seems to stop?? (That is if you still have power)

Here's a little glimpse at our day in the blizzard:

The wind was fierce, we lasted all of ten minutes out there. Then came in for movies and hot chocolate! Which is the only reason you go outside right?

Watching the plow guy. Or as Jack calls him the "snow-cloud guy."

I went out in the afternoon for a little snowshoe trek along the power line path just through the woods near our house.

I spent the afternoon sorting through five boxes of Sophia's baby and toddler clothes. That girl. She was well dressed. But since we're having a boy, it's time for it all to go!

When Sophia was little and napping multiple times a day and I was only working part time I had lots of time to sew. It was great. I made her all these clothes...looking at them again I find it kind of hard to believe.

How was your snowday? How many inches did you get? And if you live somewhere warm and sunny...what did you do yesterday?
