Thank You

I feel like I'm forgetting something. Walking around this morning I feel like there's something pressing and important and I just can't remember what it is. But the truth is I'm not forgetting anything. For the past nine months fundraising for CHaD has been at the forefront of my mind: from the creation of the "Embrace the Hill" t-shirts to the final fundraising event at Flatbread Company on Tuesday night a huge chunk of my time has been spent trying to give back. When I think of CHaD I'm flooded with a mix of emotions: the memory of sitting in Jack's hospital room wanting to hold him so tightly, but knowing that if I held him too tight I'd cause more pain. I remember the intense anxiety I felt when the doctors were trying to identify the strain of staph so they could administer the correct antibiotic. But most of all I think of the other families we encountered there: Mom's and Dad's with sick or injured children feeling the same fears, the same anxieties…some feeling an intense sadness and loss that I may never know. I am so grateful for the expertise of the doctors, the care of the nurses, the availability of the Child Life staff they all are there to help heal and restore. To help make a very difficult situation a little more bearable and hopefully a lot less difficult. Without fundraising dollars that care and service would be severely cut short on unavailable. We never knew we would need the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, but it was available to us when we did. That is what has compelled me, both last year and for these last nine months; I want to make sure the care is there for another family.

Last night fundraising came to a close and WE--I say we because it was with your help- raised $6681 for CHaD. And $2773 of  that money was raised in the last seven days. THANK YOU so much for making a difference, for supporting me in my fundraising efforts, for buying t-shirts and sending money and sharing videos. Without your help this would not have been possible. So please accept a very heartfelt thank you and if we were standing face to face a hug too.
