Runner's Wish List
Perhaps the title should read "THIS Runner's Wish List" since it really is a compilation of all the things that are on my list this year. But any of these would make great gifts for the runner in your life.
1. Athleta Sandstone Relay Tight. I have a pair of Athelta Relay Capris and love the thick comfortable fabric. The construction is solid and I've appreciated Athleta's great customer services. I love this tight. It is a subtle variation on a printed tight (in case you're hesitant to wear a bold floral pattern;) and the blue is a nice variation from the all-to-common black running tight. $84.00 at Athleta.com Use code FIT20 for 20% off entire purchase on 11/29 only. 2. Athleta Turbocharge Tank. Another find from Athleta the Turbocharge tank, with built in support, makes it on the list because of the two back pockets. Seems to me to be the perfect half-marathon/marathon top since it has a safe place to stash the GU. $59.00 from Athleta.com Use code FIT20 for 20% off entire purchase on 11/29 only.
3. Strong is the New Strong Graphic Long-Sleeve from Title Nine. I simply love this t-shirt. I'm kind of over all those strong is the new skinny, orange is the new black, black is the new skinny, strong is the new orange…all those mantras that try to make something old into something new. Strong is strong. Simple as that. It's a great statement tee and the color selection is super cute: purple (shown here) and indigo. $36.00 TitleNine.com
4. Saucony Ride 6. The Ride is a neutral running shoe with more cushion than I am accustomed to running in. I train and race in the Saucony Fastwitch and Saucony Kinvara and think this shoe would be a good addition into the rotation for longer runs and recovery runs. The Ride features a 8mm drop and weighs in at around 9oz. Plus the colors are pretty spectacular. $110.00 Saucony.com use code HOLIDAY13 for free shipping and 20%off till 12/2.
5. Oiselle Strappy Bra. I love the straps on this bra, they are feminine and totally functional at the same time. Kind of a new take for sports bras. I own and love all my pieces from Oiselle, the design and construction is top notch. I would imagine the same would be true of their bras, plus the pop of color is so fun. $37.00 from Oiselle.com
6. Alex and Ani HERO Bangle. I think I might be super late to the party on this one, but I really love this Alex and Ani HERO Bangle. A hero is everything I tried to be when I signed up for and ran the CHaD (Children's Hospital at Dartmouth) HERO Half Marathon to raise money in honor of my son and in support of other families, like ours served by that great hospital. This particular one speaks to me, but Alex and Ani offers so many other bangles with meaningful symbols you're sure to find one suitable for any occasion. $28.00 AlexandAni.com.
7. Nuun. Nuun Hydration Tablets are my electrolyte drink of choice. Everything you need for race day and training, without the sugar. I got my first tube of Nuun in my stocking and still think it makes the best stocking stuffer for the runner in your life. Nuun comes in 12 flavors, like Strawberry Lemonade, Grape, Watermelon and more. And if you place your order before December 2nd you can get free shipping and four packs for $20 (savings of $4). $24 (or $20 before Dec. 2nd) from Nuun.com
8. Darn Tough Women's Galaxy 1/4 Sock-Cushion. These are the only socks that keep my feet warm on winter runs from the moment I leave the door to the moment I return. There's no waiting for the blood to slowly circulate back into my toes after I've run a few miles. Nope, my toes stay warm and toasty the whole run. The 1/4 sock also is tall enough to bridge the gap between the end of your running tights and the top of your sock (there's also a no-show, lower cut sock if you prefer to show a little skin on those winter runs). The socks are constructed of merino wool, which keeps feet insulated while maintaining breathability. And they are made right next door in Vermont. They also have a lifetime guarantee, hard to beat. Perfect for the cold-footed runner in your life. $12.75 from SocksAddict.com
