A run, a picture

My long run on Saturday was breath taking. We spent the weekend at my mother-in-laws beach house in Maine. It's a place I often take for granted and don't visit enough. There is something about the beach in New England during Autumn that is so striking: the vibrant color of the leaves so close to the waters edge. My run took me from Wells, ME to York through Ogunquit and Perkins Cove. It's a picturesque place to begin with but when you add the natural beauty of the changing fall leaves it takes on a whole new dimension. At one point on my run a gust of wind passed through the trees, sending a shower of golden yellow leaves cascading down around and on top of me, moments later I glanced at the sky to see a V-formation of Canadian geese flying south along the shore. I think I said "oh my gosh" out loud, it was that pretty...and so quintessentially fall. It could possibly be one of the most beautiful runs Ive ever been on. The pictures dont do it justice but if I had taken more pictures, I don't think it would have qualified as a run. It's hard to capture the moment of a run with a picture, it's more than just what you see that goes in to what you are feeling.

Do you take pictures when you run? What's your most memorable run?
