Goal Accomplished

When I set the goal of raising $5000 for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock back in May it seemed pretty impossible. I wondered who would donate and how I'd be brave enough to ask people for money? Over the past four months I've learned two very important lessons: when something becomes important enough to you that it ignites a passion inside you, you make it happen; and probably more importantly (and more powerfully) I am SURROUNDED by people who LOVE and SUPPORT me and my family and it is because of THEM, because of YOU that I've met my goal of raising $5000 for The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. It happened this weekend thanks to Dan and Kate Tirabassi, owners of Granite State Kettlebells and all of the people who participated in the "Jack Attack" workout at the Tirabassi's kettlebell gym in Keene, NH. Dan generously organized and led a fundraising workout where participants could buy-in to play and all proceeds would go to The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth.

Our whole family went down for the event and we had a blast participating and cheering on the participants who came out to support the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. My husband participated in the first round, while I watched the kids, then we swapped and I participated in the second round.

At the end of the day we raised $445 for CHaD, which put me over the $5000 mark. I'm so grateful to everyone who participated: their sweat on Saturday will help so many children and patients at CHaD.

There are still six weeks before the CHaD HERO Half Marathon on October 20th, which means...I'm NOT DONE. I'm increasing my goal by another $2000 to $7000. And if I, if WE can get there in the next 6 weeks it won't just be $7000. Thanks to a matching grant from Positive Tracks any amount I raise will be double, so instead of $7000 it will be $14,000 which makes a HUGE difference in the lives of so many kids and families receiving care from CHaD. Please consider donating. You can do so on my donation page HERE.

Do you kettle bell? What do you like about it? Have you ever met a goal that you thought was impossible? Tell us about it!

Try the "Jack Attack" and let me know what you think!
