Shopping Paleo: My Grocery List
Call it my type A personality or a certain level of OCD, but I love
lists
. I compulsively make lists: what am I going to do this week? today? this morning? in the next 15 minutes. I like writing things down and then crossing them off, not checking them off,
CROSSING
them off. Somehow a check just doesn't seem sufficient, it looks like it still needs to be done. But if I take a Sharpie and cross that sucker off then I know it's
done.
The only thing better than writing down a list is
typing
a list. So of course, my grocery list is
typed
. With little boxes so I can go through my fridge and cabinets and check off what I need, then when I get to the grocery story I CROSS off what I've put in my card. The only thing I need when I go to the grocery store is a clipboard, but that would look totally ridiculous.
That girl has serious issues: her list is typed AND she has a clipboard and sharpie.
Or maybe they'll just think I work there, stocking the shelves.
So here is my Paleo Grocery list.
And here's my "Paleo" Fridge:
First Shelf: Eggs, lots of eggs! Quiche for the week. Free Range, Organic Cream.
Second Shelf: Leftovers great for lunch or to scramble into eggs in the morning. Nitrate-Free Bacon.
Third Shelf: Coconut Milk and Goat milk for our two-year old Sophia. Fresh veggie and fruit juice. (for 100% Paleo followers goats milk is not "Paleo" but Sophia likes it and it is loaded with protein.)
Veggie Drawer: Lots and lots of veggies. Lettuce, butternut squash, beets, turnips.
Fruit Drawer: Lots of fresh fruit.
Happy Shopping! (and crossing off your list!)
