Mom's Day 5K
You would think I would have been tired on Sunday, instead I was uber-energetic and jittery (probably annoyingly so). It was like I'd had a Red Bull--or two--except I hadn't; I was soaring on excess endorphins from all the running I did this weekend.
During the Mother's Day 5K I found it difficult to hold back when a few mom's in the stroller section struck out at a faster pace. Ooooh I wanted to go catch them! But I didn't and ran with my mom and sister, Rachel--which was probably a wise decision for my tender knee (tender not from the half-marathon itself, but because I chose to wear my "going out heels" with my "going out jeans" on our date on Saturday night. Hmmmm. Maybe not so wise.).
We ran and chatted and walked a bit here and there. It was relaxed and fun, and didn't have the "run-till-your-lungs-burst" feel that my normal 5K's have.
I finally came down off my endorphin high in the car, on our way to my mother-in-law's beach house. My belly full of yummy brunch, my legs tired with all the running, I fell asleep, mouth wide open. I have pictures to document the whole weekend, but thankfully not one of me sleeping with my mouth open.
