Loving Lately: glasses, muscle massage and scrummy biscuits

Some of the items in this post I was given. But the views expressed here are my own.  I can't believe another week has gone by. I feel like the days are draaaaaaaging and flying by at the same time. Life has been a little crazy around here since I've felt like a solo parent for the past two weeks. My hubby has been non-stop grinding (God bless him!), working all day and then heading to the house on nights and weekends to get things done. Non-stop with the kids hasn't exactly been a walk in the park, but the nicer weather certainly is helping! I'm pretty sure that if it hadn't gotten warm and sunshiny this past week I would have gone absolutely crazy. Yay for sunshine! There have been a few fun things in the past few weeks that I'm excited to share with you!

New Glasses

I'm extremely nearsighted and have been wearing contacts since I was 12 years old. Pretty much every morning I pop my contacts in and go about my day, not really thinking to much about my eyesight. I do wear glasses in the mornings and occasionally in the evenings, but I should probably wear them more often and give my eyes a chance to rest.

I was excited when GlassesUSA.com offered to send me new frames to try out. I've always picked really traditional frame shapes in black or brown, but this time I thought I'd pick something totally out of the ordinary for me and I love them!  I chose the Erin frame in "Wine," a style and color that are totally "not me," but they really work!

Considering how expensive frames and lenses are at your optician, I think ordering online is the way to go! It was easy to supply GlassesUSA.com with my current prescription and the glasses arrived a short time later. They also have a great virtual mirror when you can "virtually" try on glasses. And if the fit isn't perfect they offer a 100% money back guarantee and 365 day product warranty. There having a 55% off flash sale for the next two days, so if you've been thinking about new frames there's no better time to get them! See what fun frames they have HERE.

The New Trigger Pin Vector

Last year at the Big Lake Half Marathon, my husband, Mark picked up the Trigger Pin which was for sale after the race. He bought it for his neck, but it quickly became one of my most used massage tools. It turns out they are made by a local guy (also named Mark. Ha!) in Wolfeboro, NH. He started making them in his basement and has seen his little business expand and grow. Trigger Pin Mark recently released the latest iteration of his Trigger Pin: the Vector. It's is highly effective and works so well at getting my cranky piriformis and hips, and is really great for the IT Band. It's one of the reasons my hip issues were able to clear up quickly (along with LOTS of PT strengthening moves). I would highly recommend the tool. You can get yours at 10% off with code RUNFAR at TPinMuscleTherapy.com.

Schmidt's Natural Deoderant

I stumbled upon Schmidt's Natural Deodorant Ylang-Ylang+Calendula while browsing TJMaxx last weekend. I've tried so many natural deodorants and never really found one that has worked. This one, however is working! I'm not a huge fan of this particular scent, but the alternative is smelling like a sweaty, un-showered man. LOL. They have quite a few other scents to choose from, which I'm eager to give a try. At $8.99 (it was $5.99 at TJMaxx) a stick it's a little on the pricy side, but I'll take that over ruining all my clothes with perma-stink.

The Great British Baking Show

Usually if we watch any TV at night my husband picks the show and I do something else: click away at my computer doing work or head to bed with a book. He likes shows like Narcos, Dexter, Better Call Saul...I usually try to get into the shows a little but quite frankly I don't enjoy them. I like watching things that make me feel good, not stress me out. This week I needed to check out a bit since Mark has been working every weekend and late on the house each night. By the time the kids are in bed I haven't really wanted to do any work at all and so I've been watching The Great British Baking Show. I usually always watch TV while doing something else, but for this show I put everything down and love to watch the process of each of the "bakes." Plus how can you not love a show that uses the word "scrummy" to describe how delicious something is?

What are you into these days?
